DAD, an Azerbaijani fruit producer, intends to start deliveries to the UK and Italy, CEO of the company Isameddin Damirov told Trend May 26.

"Our company has already received specific orders from these countries. Only the issues related to documentation and product certification remain to be solved. In general, our traditional markets are Russia and other CIS countries; we also export our products to Arab countries – Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Asian countries – Malaysia, Singapore, Maldives," Damirov said.

He noted that by the end of 2018, the company plans to significantly increase exports to $5 million. In 2017, this figure was about $3 million. In general, about 60 percent of the products of the company are exported, the CEO of DAD added.

Damirov said the company also intends to build an enterprise for production of marmalade and jams in the city of Guba. Today, DAD is engaged only in the production and packaging of fruits. The company's enterprises and gardens are located in Guba and Gabala.

Damirov noted that Azerbaijani fruit and vegetable products are in great demand in foreign markets.

"Azerbaijani fruits and vegetables stand out for their quality, taste and interest in them in foreign markets. Therefore, I believe that domestic producers should produce more and export more, there is a great potential, which, unfortunately, is not yet fully used. In particular, I note the need to use the latest technologies. Although tangible progress has been made in this area in recent years," said Damirov.
