(IRNA) - Pilot production of Iranian designed car `Samand' will start within two months in Syria, announced here Thursday visiting Iranian deputy industry Minister Mohsen Shaterzadeh.
In a meeting with Syrian industry Minister Fuad Issa Jouni, Shaterzadeh predicted that the full industrial production will be on line two months after the first test stage, reports Trend.
He also said in the meeting that a cement factory project in Hamah has been completed by 90 percent and the final operational stage is scheduled for three months later.
These factories are being constructed by Iranian technical personnel and know-how.
The Syrian official expressed his great satisfaction of Iranian technical and industrial activities in his country and invited Iranian industrialists to make more investments in his country.
The two sides also had talks about projects Iranian engineering companies in Syria including projects in the fields of tractor manufacturing, glass, dairy and food industries.
Samand manufacturing plant is the first car making unit in Syria set up by a joint investment of 60 million dollars.
The production rate is scheduled for 10,000 cars first and then up to 30,000 units per year.
