Azerbaijan, Baku Trend I.Khalilova / The President of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Found (AZPROMO), Emil Mejidly, said on 22 May that a German consultant will arrive in Baku on 8 June under the technical assistance of the German Society of Technical Assistance (GTZ) in creating export alliances. According to Mejidly, GTZ reached an agreement on a concrete action plan. The alliance of exporters of fruit juices will be launched on the first day of the consultant's arrival. After the launch of the alliance, measures will be organized, including the development of marketing tools of the companies (catalogues, web-sites). After the end of the year, active work will start on organizing training which will continue in Germany.
The key goal is to unify the efforts of the juice producers to settle problems which have been seen in the industry of juice production for a long time. The problems are also observed with regards to technological standards. Currently production in Azerbaijan is carried out without modern technology. After the creation of the alliance, a new Azerbaijani brand will be applied to advertise the juices of the manufacturers. This brand will have its quality sign. If the products are marked with this sign, they have to be manufactured in accordance with European standards. In addition, the alliances will be involved in marketing and directing Azerbaijani juices to foreign markets.
Yet the Head of AZPROMO does not consider it necessary to legally register the alliance.
