The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said Wednesday that its oil price jumped to 104.01 dollars the previous day, DPA reported.
Amid violent political upheavals in OPEC member Libya, the cartel's basket price added 3.42 dollars per barrel (159 litres).
Libya is a major African oil producer and pumps 1.8 per cent of global oil supplies.
