Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov 30 /Trend E.Ismayilov/

As of November 30, SOCAR daily exports of 8.4 million cubic meters of gas to Russia have risen compared to more than 6 million cubic meters as of Nov 6, a source in SOCAR told Trend on Friday.

Azerbaijani gas supplies to Russia started on Jan. 1, 2010.

"Gas supplies to Russia have grown due to the lower temperature, particularly daily rate of gas supply amounted to 8.4 million cubic meters," the source said.

Azerbaijan gas is supplied to Russia upon a contract signed by SOCAR and Gazprom on Oct. 14, 2009. According to an addendum to the contract signed in Baku in early September 2010, Gazprom was to get two billion cubic meters in 2011 and over two billion in 2012. However, the Russian side did not get the full amount of planned volumes last year.

The additional agreement to increase the volume of Azerbaijani gas purchased by Russia from 1.5 to three billion cubic meters, was signed by the parties in Sochi on January 24 this year.
