Kazakh "KazMunaiGas" expects significant increase in hydrocarbon reserves

Kazakhstan's National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas expects a significant increase in oil and gas condensate reserves, Deputy Board Chairman of the company Magzum Mirzagaliyeva said at the Forum of Oil and Gas Companies "Oil and Gas: Kazakh Content - 2013."

He said today the oil and gas condensate reserves of KazMunaiGas are estimated at almost 800 million tons.

"Most growth of reserves and production of hydrocarbons is associated with the development of the Caspian shelf. By 2020, we plan to increase the level of the remaining recoverable reserves of oil and condensate up to 1.3 billion tons," Mirzagaliev said.

He said maritime projects are the main potential of development of KazMunaiGas. In particular, these projects are "N", "Zhambyl" and "Satpayev" "Zhemchuzhina" "Zhambai", "Kashagan" and others.

According to Mirzagaliev, in 2012 KMG produced 21.6 million tons of oil and gas condensate, which makes up 26 percent of the Kazakh market. Oil transportation amounted to 76.8 million tons, oil processing - 15.7 million tons, gas transportation - 106.5 billion cubic meters.
