SOCAR may resume gasoline export prior to accomplishment of catalytic cracking plant overhaul

Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (former Azerneftyanacag) under the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to finish overhaul till the start of the March last decade and reinstate the operation for the catalytic cracking plant to produce gasoline and other oil products.

The gasoline export may resume some days prior to reinstatement of the cracking plant operation, SOCAR told Trend. В"It is related to our large stores of gasoline which enables to start export before the facility launch, SOCAR said.

The cracking plant has been halted in early February for scheduled repair.

In December SOCAR signed a contract with the Singapore Petrofarm for delivery in 2006 of 50,000 tons of gasoline. The oil product will be shipped by Petrofarm on FOB basis berth N20, being on the balance of the Azrneftyag Oil Refinery (part of SOCAR). Petrofarm will supply gasoline by tankers of the Caspian Shipping Company to the Iranian port of Neka.

SOCAR has also contract with the Georgian Sacnaftobransi state company for supply of gasoline in 2006. Per 20,000 tons of gasoline a month are supposed to be delivered to this company since March.

Between 10 and 15 days after the resumption of the cracking plant operation condensed gas is likely to be launched to export to Georgia.
