On the London Stock Exchange, where Georgian banks are listed, the price of the Bank of Georgia showed the highest growth from February 10 to February 14, 2020, Trend reports citing Georgian media.
Four Georgian financial institutions are trading on the London Stock Exchange including the Bank of Georgia (BGEO), TBC Bank Group (TBCG LN), and Georgian Healthcare Group (GHG LN).
As reported, 494 shares of the Bank of Georgia were sold for 8.3 million pounds, 210,000 shares of TBC Bank were sold for 2.7 million pounds, 176,000 shares of Georgia Capital were sold for 1.3 million pounds, while 581,000 shares of Georgia Healthcare Group were sold for 745,000 pounds.
On an annualized basis, the price of shares of the Bank of Georgia increased by 1.63 percent, Georgia Capital - by 6.48 percent, Georgia Healthcare Group - by 4.07 percent and TBC Bank - by 6.56 percent.
Market capitalization of Bank of Georgia amounts to 882 million pounds on the London Stock Exchange.
The market capitalization of TBC Bank is 734 million pounds, Georgia Capital - 330 million pounds, and of Georgia Healthcare Group - 168 million pounds.
As of January 1, 2020, the banking sector in Georgia was represented by 15 commercial banks, including 14 foreign-controlled banks.
The banking sector's own funds (equity capital) equal 5.7 billion lari ($1.9 billion), which makes up 12.2 percent of the commercial banks total assets.
