Share of Azerbaijan's direct external debt in GDP will amount to 20.1 percent by the end of the current year, Trend reports referring to IMF’s October report of Fiscal Monitor.
According to IMF, the share of Azerbaijan's direct external public debt in GDP will make up 20 percent in 2021, 21.4 percent in 2022, 23.6 percent in 2023 and 2024, and 26.2 percent in 2025.
According to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Finance, as of January 1, 2020, Azerbaijan's direct external debt made up $8.3 billion, or 17.3 percent of GDP.
In 2020, among the oil-exporting countries, the economy of Azerbaijan will suffer the least.
