Azerbaijan's Kapital Bank notes increase in assets within 2Q2021

The total assets of Azerbaijan's Kapital Bank increased by 17.3 percent in the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports citing the bank's financial report.

According to the report, the bank's total assets rose to 5.7 billion manat ($3.35 billion). In their structure, the largest share (40.2 percent) was held by the loan portfolio - 2.3 billion manat ($1.35 billion), which increased by 6.7 percent over the year. The deduction of target reserves from the loan portfolio to ensure possible losses amounted to 316.2 million manat ($186 million).

Cash and cash equivalents made up about 32.9 percent of the bank's total assets, having increased by 26.6 percent over the year - up to 1.88 billion manat ($1.1 billion).

Another 17.7 percent of Kapital Bank's assets were investments in securities - 1.01 billion manat ($594 million) (an increase of 2.06 times).

In the structure of long-term assets of the bank, unused real estate amounted to 64.5 million manat ($37.9 million), an increase of 10.6 percent on annual basis. Intangible assets increased by 4.5 percent over the year, amounting to 24.8 million manat ($14.5 million).

Other assets of Kapital Bank are estimated at 250.8 million manat or $147.5 million (decline by 41.3 percent).
