Over 95 cable and sewerage facilities owned by the Baku Telephone Communications LLC (Baktelecom) have been reconstructed, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies told Trend Jan. 22.
The technical reconstruction work was completed in 20,300 cable and sewerage facilities out of a total of 21,294 cable and sewerage facilities.
The reconstruction provides for decommissioning of the cable lines that do not meet requirements.
“The reconstruction will be completed soon,” the ministry said. “On top of the new infrastructure, internet service providers will be able to get Ethernet and optical ports to provide their services anywhere in Baku. This will also allow them to reduce costs and improve the quality of services provided to end users.”
The Baku Telephone Communications LLC cooperates with those providers that comply with the rules and established technical standards for the operation of the cable and sewerage facilities. Internet service providers receive ports on top of cable infrastructure under standard conditions and the established tariffs.
