The volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish port of Fatsa amounted to 43,222 tons from January through April of 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the specified period, 3,206 tons of cargo were handled via Fatsa port by ships flying the Turkish flag, and 40,016 tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries.
"Meanwhile, no cargo was handled in transit via the mentioned port," the ministry noted.
Totally, over 124.9 million tons of cargo had been transported through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.
Around 9.8 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the local ports. About 115.1 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.
Moreover, 24.5 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period. In general, 33.8 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in April 2021.
Furthermore, 2.7 million tons of cargo were transported by the ships flying the Turkish flag in April 2021. At the same time, 31.1 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports by the ships flying the flags of other countries.
Thus, over 6.3 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in April this year.
