Deputy PMs appointed in Kazakhstan (UPDATE)

Kazakh President Nursulatan Nazarbayev appointed Imangali Tasmagambetov to the post of the deputy prime minister, the presidential press-service reported on Sept. 13.

Tasmagambetov has been serving as defense minister since Oct. 2014.

Another deputy prime minister, also minister of agriculture Askar Myrzakhmetov retained his position.

Earlier Kazakh President dismissed Prime Minister Karim Massimov and appointed Bakytzhan Sagintayev to this post. Sagintayev earlier served as the first deputy prime minister. Askar Mamin, who earlier headed the Kazakhstan Railways was appointed to the post of the first deputy prime minister.
