"Excessive nationalism is the main problem of Kyrgyzstan but not separatism," Prime-Minister Almazbek Atambayev said at today's meeting with members of leading news agencies of the country, answering the question of "24.kg" news agency.

"Implementing policy in Kyrgyzstan we must take into consideration multinationality of the country," said Almazbek Atambayev. "There must not be any exaggerations. But there is another side of the question. Any citizen of Kyrgyzstan must feel himself as a citizen of Kyrgyzstan but some people feel as citizens of other countries. They even vote on orders from the side. We must work, do not stop and solve this problem, 24.kg reported.

"In Kyrgyzstan, as in multinational country, everybody must feel equal," underlined Almazbek Atambayev. "God made all people equal. I'm against announcements of some politicians saying that one nation is of premium grade, other nations are second or third grade. Excessive nationalism may become the problem not only for Kyrgyzstan but also for other countries, as Manege Square riots demonstrated.

"About conclusion of State Commission for Comprehensive Study of Causes of tragic events in southern Kyrgyzstan, I would not completely agree with them," said Prime-Minister. "Yes, of course, I guess it was hard for commission's members, but time will put everything in its place. I know that the same security officers, commission puts responsibility on, tried to stop the conflict, prevent its growth. I remind that the same events took place in 1990, when there was USSR, its army and KGB. But in 2010, in conditions of complete chaos, when there were almost no security agencies, interim government was able to stop the conflict within several days. The fact that conflict was stopped is achievement of security officers and governors. It is not that case to blame them. That is why I consider that those who prepared the events are responsible for the tragedy."

"If one looks into the roots of the conflict, then he understands that the conflict was ripping for a long time, because pressing questions were not solved and special services of former presidents did not deal with terrorism fight but they fought against opposition," underlined Almazbek Atambayev. "Authorities were flirting with separatists. They were favorites of top circles. I think that people who closed their eyes on existing problems were guilty in conflict in southern Kyrgyzstan. The tragedy was consequence and its cause was accumulating for years."
