According to the report, the bill has been prepared in accordance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and Article 30 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, which provides the right of citizens to form political parties.
The current draft of law on political parties determine the legal basis for the creation of political parties, their rights and obligations, warranties of activity, regulates the relations of political parties with government agencies and other organizations. The subject of regulation of the new bill are the social relations arising in connection with the exercise by citizens of Turkmenistan, the right of association in political parties and the establishment, operation, reorganization and liquidation of political parties in the country.
On the eve President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, said in his program statement as a presidential candidate that he supports establishment of new parties in the country.
