(Turkmenistan.ru) - A drip irrigation system was commissioned at a vineyard plantation occupying over 50 hectares in the farmer union Gokche of Ruhabat district of Ahal province of Turkmenistan. A powerful pump with multi-step filters, a special reservoir and a drip irrigation system were designed and built by Turkmen specialists. The assembly of a similar system of vineyard irrigation will be completed soon in the farmer union named after S.A.Niyazov in the same district.

The construction-operation division Damja specializing in creation of increasingly popular in Turkmenistan drip irrigation systems was established last year. It uses heat-resistant pipes of greater diameter and irrigation hoses made by the pipe plant of Ruhabat district, reports Trend.

The drip irrigation systems are being used or being planned for commissioning in a number of farmer unions. On the whole, with this progressive technology Turkmenistan plans to develop some 13 thousand hectares of fields, gardens and vineyards in Ruhabat district at a projected cost of Manat 1, 049 trillion.

The drip irrigation system for commercial production of tomatoes built by the famous Israeli company Merhav has been used quite successfully for several years in the territory of 722 hectares of the Ruhubelent association of the foodstuffs industry of Turkmenistan. This system is also employed at the vineyard plantations occupying 400 hectares on the mountainsides of Kopetdag. This progressive method has helped to grow a park of evergreen conifer and deciduous trees in the place of Yanbash. There are plans to significantly increase the territories under the drip irrigation across Turkmenistan.
