Uzbekistan and UK discussed the provision of technical assistance to the UK to a number of joint projects, including in expanding exports of products of the country's agricultural sector, Trend reports with reference to Uzbek Embassy in UK.
The representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London took part in the Uzbek-British negotiations on promoting bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere.
The Uzbek side was represented by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and the Embassy and the UK side was represented by the Directorate of Bilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of International Trade, the Office of the Trade Commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the UK diplomatic mission in Tashkent.
During the negotiations, the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the 25th meeting of the Uzbek-British Council for Trade and Industry (UBCTI), which took place on February 3-4, 2021, was discussed.
The parties also discussed the issues of providing technical assistance to the UK to a number of joint projects, including in the field of supporting economic reforms, Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO (World Trade Organization), and expanding exports of products of the country's agricultural sector.
It is reported that the UK side welcomed the ratification by Uzbekistan of the agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UK, which opens up new opportunities for the development of interaction in various fields.
