Iran will not accept any preconditions or threats in the negotiations with West, Iranian Defense minister Hussein Dehghan Said, ISNA news agency reported.
He went on to note that, Iran will never accept to be the weak side of the negotiations, adding that Iran is ready to talk with West.
Dehghan also underlined that negotiations should be held, based on mutual respect without any threatening.
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani`s viewpoints regarding the negotiations reflects the position of Iranian government, he said.
Speaking Sunday at a military parade, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said that his government is ready to hold talks on its nuclear program, but only if the negotiations have no preconditions.
He added that, Western countries should accept Iran's right to enrich uranium "within the framework of international law."
Rouhani also reiterated Iran's insistence that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.
Earlier in his interview to NBC News, Rouhani said he had complete authority to negotiate with Western powers.
The U.S. and its Western allies suspect Iran of developing a nuclear weapon - something that Iran denies.
The Islamic Republic has on numerous occasions stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons, using nuclear energy for medical researches instead.
Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under several rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West's calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.
