Some 286 million cubic meters of gas was consumed by Iranian households on November 4.
The Spokesman of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Majid Boujarzadeh said that the country's industrial units and power plants also burned 166 million cubic meters of gas on the same day, Iran's Fars News Agency reported on Nov. 5.
"Power plants' consumption accounted for 76 million cubic meters of the mentioned figure," he said.
The official further predicted that the households' consumption will surpass 300 million cubic meters per day as of Saturday.
"No gas shortage or pressure drop has been reported," he said.
According to Boujarzadeh, totally some 76 million cubic meters of gas were consumed in Tehran, on November 4.
"The households' consumption accounted for 55 million cubic meters of the mentioned figure," he said, adding that rest went to power plants and industrial units.
Houshang Taheri, an official with the National Iranian Gas Company, predicted on Nov. 2 that Iranian households' gas consumption would reach 350 million cubic meters per day by Nov. 5.
He went on to note that the households' consumption was around 120 million cubic meters per day at the end of September.
"The number of subscribers to the national network has increased by 8 percent compared to the same period previous year," Taheri said.
