The China-Iran Joint Small and Medium Industries Cooperation Center has opened in the presence of Iran's consul general in Shanghai, Ramezan Parvaz, Trend reports via IRNA.
A memorandum of cooperation between the Shanghai International Small and Medium Industries Association and the Small Industries and Industrial Towns Organization of Iran was signed during the ceremony.
"In the past, the Silk Road was not only a symbol of trade relations between the two countries, but also a sign of bilateral public relations, the effects of which have left mark on the cultural interactions between Iran and China,” Parvaz said.
“In the past, Iran was considered for its special geopolitical position in West Asia, and today it is still of strategic importance in the context of Belt and Road Initiative,” he said.
Referring to the comprehensive contract of long-term cooperation between China and Iran, which was signed in Tehran in March, he said that the 25-year Iran-China contract indicates the beginning of a new period of deepening and strengthening relations in different areas.
Parvaz called the establishment of Iran-China Joint Small and Medium Industries Cooperation Center, a turning point to improve relations between the two countries.
