A new team of Arab observers arrived Sunday in the Egyptian capital for a brief stopover before heading to Syria to help monitor a peace plan, sources at Cairo airport said.
The observers are to meet officials at the Cairo-based Arab League for a briefing on their mission before leaving for Syria, according to the sources, DPA reported.
They added that the observers came from the Arabian Gulf countries, Iraq, Tunisia and Sudan.
