Communists Calculate Interest on Millions

( Kommersant ) - The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) will attempt to win 25 percent to 35 percent of votes at approaching elections to the State Duma, luring the nation by "left-centrist policy for the sake of majority." For this purpose, the communists will lead to the State Duma "the left-centrist bloc of communists and independents."

But CPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov spoke of the maximum 25 percent to 35 percent of votes to be accumulated at State Duma elections only in the sidelines of the Congress, referring to the best results of regional elections. The official report of the leader omitted any figures, although even without them, the general sentiment of the party members was very optimistic.

Zyuganov's interpretation of today's history is most interesting. According to him, the so-called stability always mentioned by "the government's propaganda" is guaranteed to no more than 5 percent of the nation. In reality, however, Russia went through three counterrevolutionary upheavals that were crowned with "restoration of wild capitalism."

The first counterrevolution happened in 1992 through 1995 as "the criminal counterrevolution of political crooks and crimson jackets." It was followed by "the counterrevolution of oligarchs, bureaucracy and black dinner jackets" (1996 to 1999), while the last one that began in 2000 and is still underway is the bureaucratic counterrevolution of grey jackets, i.e. of civil and enforcement bureaucrats.

Only the CPRF can change "the course and the power," Zuganov said, reasoning that only the communists are able to form "the government of people's trust that will pursue left-centrist policy for the sake of majority of the nation." It looks like in the CPRF, they don't question the future success, at least Zyuganov ended the speech by a very optimistic slogan: "They have billions, but millions are for us!"
