Turkish and Greek Cypriot leaders met on Monday as part of their efforts to reach a settlement after they agreed earlier in 2008 to launch full-fledged talks to reunify the divided island of Cyprus, reported World bulletin.
Turkish Cypriot President Mehmet Ali Talat and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias in the buffer zone in Lefkosa. They made no statement to the press after the meeting.
The two leaders discussed relations between organs of a federal state and ways to overcome differences, said Alexander Downer, special Cyprus envoy of the UN secretary-general.
Downer said Talat and Christofias would meet again on Friday when they would also set a date to discuss issue of properties.
