Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov. Sergey Shoygu has been appointed to this post. Earlier Shoygu served as governor of Moscow Oblast, RIA Novosti reported.
The head of state said about it at a meeting with Shoygu on Tuesday.
