Turkey increases export to D-8 countries

Turkey's export to Islamic countries D-8 (Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan) increased by 5.6 percent in 2019, amounting to $7.6 billion compared to 2018, Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend on Feb. 13.

In December 2019, Turkey’s export to the D-8 countries increased by 15.6 percent compared to December 2018, exceeding $769.7 million.

Turkey’s import from the D-8 countries dropped by 32.5 percent in 2019, and amounted to $ 9.145 billion compared to 2018.

According to the ministry, Turkey's import from D-8 countries in December 2019 also dropped by 28 percent compared to December 2018, and exceeded $561.1 million.

Turkey's foreign trade turnover in 2019 amounted to $374.2 billion.

In the meantime, Turkey's export increased by 2.1 percent export figures and amounted to $171.5 billion, while a source in the ministry said.

The ministry said that Turkey's foreign trade turnover in December 2019 amounted to $33.7 billion.

In December 2019, Turkey's export increased by 6.4 percent compared to December 2018, amounting to $14.6 billion.

In this month, Turkey's import increased by 14.9 percent and reached $19 billion.
