ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 16. Kazakhstan's KazTransOil facilitated the transit of 834,800 tons of Russian oil to China in April 2024, which is 12,800 tons more compared to the same period last year, the company told Trend.

At the same time, in January of this year, the transit of Russian oil to China amounted to 855,600 tons, in February – 816,200 tons, and in March – 835,600 tons.

Moreover, in 2023, the volume of transit of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to China amounted to 9.99 million tons.

From 2014 to 2023, KazTransOil ensured the delivery of 91 million tons of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to China.

As per the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia on cooperation in the transportation of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to China dated December 24, 2013, KazTransOil has been overseeing the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to China since 2014.

In 2022, KazTransOil extended the contract with Russia's Rosneft Oil Company for the provision of services for the transportation of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to China until December 31, 2033.

Meanwhile, KazTransOil is the national operator of the main oil pipeline in Kazakhstan. It is part of the KazMunayGas group (a national oil and gas company). KazTransOil owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines that are 5,400 kilometers in length.
