BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. Azercosmos currently operates two telecommunication satellites, Vice-Chairman of Azercosmos Fuad Aslanov said during the "Redefining Connectivity: Future-Ready Networks Architecture" panel at the GSMA M360 Eurasia 2024 conference, Trend reports.
He noted that the agency currently provides services in 50 countries.
“The satellite communications market currently stands at $20 billion, projected to surge to $123 billion by 2032.
Given the unpredictable nature of emergencies, there's a pressing need for an effective emergency alert communication system. Over the past two years, strides have been made in this area, with successful tests conducted,” he added.
To note, the GSMA M360 Eurasia 2024 international conference is taking place in Baku, spanning from May 15 through May 16. Azercell serves as the general sponsor of the conference, with support from the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation of Azerbaijan. This event gathers leading experts, regulators, heads of mobile operators, IT corporations, high-ranking politicians, and other participants. Baku is hosting the M360 Eurasia conference for the second time.
