Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb. 15
By Rahim Zamanov - Trend:
Iran's Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani said on February 15 that not every political solution is suitable to solve the Syrian crisis.
Larijani, however, refreshed Iran's call for the Syrian crisis to be resolved through diplomacy.
"Military intervention will not help to resolve the ongoing violence in Syria," the parliament speaker said.
"Things have not been progressing well between the Syrian government and the opposition in the Geneva peace talks due to serious differences," Larijani added.
Parliament speaker further stressed that a concrete action needs to be taken to restore democracy in the country.
Iranian official also expressed hope that the grounds will be paved to press ahead with the Syrian peace talks in the future.
"Any solution to the Syrian crisis must be based on the vote of the Syrian people," Larijani said.
