The opposition party in Turkey, CHP (People's Republican Party) appealed to the Turkish Constitutional Court on the abolition of the law "On the activity of intelligence", the Turkish TRT Haber TV channel reported.

It is expected that the Constitutional Court will soon consider the appeal. Turkish parliament approved amendments to the draft law on the activities of the intelligence service of the country on April 18.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul approved the amendment to the draft law on the activity of the intelligence service in April, 2014.

In accordance with the amendments, the activities of the intelligence service will also include government's instructions aimed at ensuing country's security.

The amendments are planned to be made on the following points: the cases with regard to employees of intelligence services will only be considered by the Supreme Court of Turkey; verdicts and decisions of the courts with regard to employees of intelligence services will not be subject to revision; family members of employees of Turkey's intelligence service will be under the protection of the state under the fight against terrorism.
