Georgia, Saudi Arabia discuss bilateral relations

Georgian Parliament’s Speaker David Bakradze discussed issues of cooperation in economic and business sphere with a delegation of Majlis Ash-Shura (Advisory Council) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which arrived in Tbilisi. As the Georgian Parliament told Trend, the Arab guests expressed interest in a business environment of Georgia and their desire to deepen economic relations.

Georgian Parliament's Speaker David Bakradze discussed issues of cooperation in economic and business sphere with a delegation of Majlis Ash-Shura (Advisory Council) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which arrived in Tbilisi. As the Georgian Parliament told Trend, the Arab guests expressed interest in a business environment of Georgia and their desire to deepen economic relations.

Bakradze thanked the delegation for its support for Georgia's territorial integrity and non-recognition of the independence of the occupied territories - Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The sides also discussed issues of deepening inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries, the situation in the Middle East and stood for maintaining stability in the region.

During the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the exchange of inter-parliamentary visits.

On Wednesday, Regional Development and Infrastructure Minister Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Mayor of Tbilisi Giga Ugulava and Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Vera Kobalia will receive Saudi Arabian delegation.

The meetings will continue also on May 24. Members of the Majlis ash-Shura will meet with the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alexander Khetaguri, then will visit Batumi. Here they will be received by chairman of Autonomous Republic of Adjara Levan Varshalomidze and Chairman of the Constitutional Court George Papuashvili. In addition, guests will visit the House of Justice in Batumi and Sarpi checkpoint.

The visit will end on May 28.
