Pakistan and Azerbaijan have launched a joint humanitarian and charitable project. About four million rupees have been donated to the Saifullah Foundation for sustainable development. The project aims to render medical and other services to the poorest layers of Pakistan's population, the website of the newspaper Pakobserver said.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov said at the ceremony on April 30 that this event confirms the strong ties of brotherhood that exist between the two countries and shows the commitment of the obligations to improve the lives of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
"This is the beginning of big donations for our brothers in Pakistan," he said.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by the Azerbaijani First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva has been chosen by the Saifullah Foundation for sustainable development and Kulsum International Hospital as a partner in this project.
Shikarov said that the Azerbaijani people and government love and respect Pakistan. More and more projects aimed at improving the welfare of the citizens will be launched in Pakistan in the near future, he added.
