Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 March /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The Parliament of Azerbaijan ratified the report of the Government (Cabinet of Ministers) regarding socio-economic results of the last year, and highlighting its approval provided consent to the Government to continue its activities for this year. As a results of the discussions, 94 MPs voted for and 6 MPs against the Government.
On 14 March, the Parliament of Azerbaijan heard the report by the Government with regards to socio-economic results of 2007. The report was presented by the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Artur Rasizade. The report was positively assessed.
The opposition MPs sharply criticized the report and required resignation of the government.
The MPs from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party highly assessed the activities of the Government. They accused opposition MPs of prejudice with regards to the Government. According to them, firstly opposition leaders should resign.
