Georgia, Tbilisi, 16 September/ Trend , corr N. Kirtskhalia/ The admission to NATO is a value for Georgia which unites everybody, speaker of Georgian parliament said at the beginning of the meeting with NATo Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on 16 September.
"Majority of citizens of Georgia support this idea 80% of which voted for admission to organization and this is our most important priority," he said.
Bakradze said when session of NATO Council was planned in May 2008 while he was foreign minister, he could not imagine what significance it will have for Georgia.
Scheffer said it is a great honor for him to be in the Georgian parliament which became "corner stone" of rose revolution which brought freedom and democracy to the country. "Today US and other NATO member states support the same priority as Georgian people," he said.
NATO Secretary General said "the Alliance unambiguously supports territorial integrity of Georgia and prepared to support it in its integration to the European structures".
