NATO has not appealed for cargo transportation via Georgia, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said in Kiev on Feb. 26. He was attending the opening of the new GUAM headquarters.
"No official appeal has been made. We will consider an appeal if it is made," Vashadze said.
NATO member-countries consider Georgia a possible transit route for non-military cargo after problems along the Pakistani-Afghan border in January.
"Given our desire to gain full membership with NATO, we will reach a favorable decision if the appeal is made," he said.
