Azerbaijan supports the UN General Assembly resolution on the destruction of chemical weapons in Syria, country's Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told, speaking in New York at the UN General Assembly meeting on the situation in Syria.
Azerbaijan hopes that a unanimous and decisive position, which was demonstrated by the UN Security Council will contribute to the search for a political solution to the conflict in Syria, put an end to sufferings of the Syrian people and ensure fulfillment of the obligations of the parties in accordance with international law, Mammadyarov said.
