The Valdai Club, also known as the Valdai International Discussion Club, is an international forum that brings together experts, political scientists, economists, scholars, and journalists to discuss pressing global issues. Established in 2004 in Russia, its name derives from the location of its first meeting at Lake Valdai in the Veliky Novgorod region.
The club's primary goal is to facilitate the exchange of opinions and analysis of key international trends, encompassing politics, economics, security, and global challenges. High-ranking Russian officials, including the President of Russia, regularly attend the forum, attracting global media attention. The Valdai Club has become a platform for dialogue among representatives from various countries, allowing for discussions on the future of international relations and presenting Russia's perspective on global events. Over the years, the forum's format has expanded, involving experts and participants from around the world and addressing a wide range of topics from economic cooperation and ecology to security and multipolarity in international relations.
