Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / In the case that the former Azerbaijani Health Minister, Ali Insanov, applies in written form to the Musavat party for admission, the issue will be discussed at the Divan (presidium of the party), the head of Musavat's administration, Sulhaddin Akbar, said.
Akbar disproved the reports stating that Insanov wrote an application to the Musavat for admission. "Under the tradition of the party, in the cases that well-known public persons want to enter party membership, they have to write an appeal which will be submitted to the Divan afterwards," Akbar clarified.
The head of the Party, Isa Gambar, reported that he had no information on Insanov's writing an application. Gambar left the question unanswered on how real the idea of Isanov's admission to the party was.
The former Minister was arrested in October 2005 for an attempted coup d'etat, appropriation and embezzlement of state property, exceeding his commissions and responsibilities, and other serious crimes for which he was sentenced to eleven years imprisonment and seizure of his property.
