Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / More than 605kg of narcotics were seized from the illegal drug trade over the recent seven months in Azerbaijan. According to information provided by the State Committee to Combat Narcotics, during this period, 1,627 crimes were registered. Of them, 962 are linked with possession, 584 in trafficking, and eighty-one in growing/manufacturing narcotics.
Some 424kg of hashish makes up the key part of the seized narcotics, as well as 85kg of marijuana, 59kg of opium, 38kg of heroin, 500g of acetic anhydride, and 500g of opium. Nearly 18,000 drug users have been registered in Azerbaijan.
