Victims of Azerbaijani Genocide Remembered in Israel
Israel, Jerusalem, 31 March / Trend corr. R.Abdullayev / On 31 March, the event dedicated to the Day of Azerbaijani genocide and organized by the Congress of Israeli Azerbaijanis will be held in the House of Diaspora in Rishon Le Tsion city, Israel, Alex Shapiro Suliman, the President of the Congress, stated to Trend .
Shapiro said the policy of genocide and aggression carried out by Armenian nationalists against Azerbaijanis has 200 years history. "The aim of this policy was to displace Azerbaijanis from their motherlands and establishment of Great Armenia in these territories. World should know more about this tragedy and we should popularize this tragedy, which is one of the key policy of our Congress," Suliman said.
The event will be attended by representatives of Israeli Parliament, Mayor of Rishon Le Tsion, members of diplomatic missions in Israel and representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Israel. The guests will get familiarize with the photos and literature of genocide against Azerbaijanis.
31 March is the memory day of the tragic events in the history of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people, which took place in the recent hundred years. The scandalous facts of massacre, repressions, eviction of Azerbaijanis from their native land may be considered one of the tragic pages in the world history of the 20th century. This tragic history of Azerbaijani people reflects the Armenian chauvinism -mad about creation of the Great Armenia and not disdaining to use any means to achieve the desired goal.
According to the decree signed by the Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1998, 31 March shall be marked as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
