Today, the public association "Eurasian Institute of International Studies" has presented the film 'Gasim's oath' from "National Heroes of Azerbaijan" dedicated on the life and combat way of National Hero Gasim Rzayev.
While opening the presentation, chairman of the public association Gunel Pashayeva spoke about life of Gasim Rzayev. She said that we will have more heroes if we cite our national heroes as an example. "Every Azerbaijani should be ready to rise to the top of martyrdom because of the occupation of our lands", chairman of the public association said.
"Hero Gasim Rzayev gave his young life for his country. His love to the country should be an example for everyone", chief adviser of the film Ganira Pashayeva said at a presentation.
"Alibayli village was inscribed in the history of Azerbaijan as an example of heroism. Its inhabitants did not leave the village and fought with the enemy till the end," MP said.
"Every citizen, regardless of his position, owes to national heroes. The glory and honor to those who have sacrificed their sacred right to life in the fight for their country," Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova said during the presentation. Appealing to friends and relatives of Gasim Rzayev, Commissioner for Human Rights said that such heroes are the pride of their descendants.
The director of the film is Etibar Babayev.
Gasim Rzayev destroyed a large number of equipment and manpower of the enemy in reconnaissance and offensive operations against the Armenians. During fighting near the village of Alibayli in May 14, 1992, a car driven by him was shot by the Armenians.
Azerbaijani President, national leader Heydar Aliyev awarded Gasim Rzayev with the title of National Hero of Azerbaijan in 1994 posthumously for heroism in defending the homeland.
