Turkey, IMF discuss economic program framework

Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek and IMF delegation headed by IMF Turkey Desk Chief Rachel Van Elkan discussed general framework of economic program in Ankara on Thursday.

IMF delegation is expected to meet executives of economy within the scope of talks in the capital of Turkey.

The IMF team is expected to proceed to Istanbul after talks with government officials and meet with businessmen and representatives of banking sector to discuss financing need of the real sector.

The IMF team will stay in Turkey until the end of January. Talks with the IMF are expected to resume in February.

The new loan deal between Turkey and the IMF is likely to be approved by the Fund in March, reported Worldbulletin.
