BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. A total of 908,834 passengers were transported by air from Azerbaijan abroad in the first four months of this year, Trend reports.
Data from the State Tourism Agency's report shows that the figure is 39.4 percent higher than the same period last year.
The majority of the passengers (254,551) visited Russia, representing a growth of 27.7 percent compared to the same period in 2023, followed by Türkiye (225,607 passengers, +26.9 percent) and the UAE (128,675 passengers, +46 percent).
In April alone, 254,176 passengers were transported from Azerbaijan, which is 42.8 percent more year on year.
Meanwhile, 73,030 passengers were transported from Azerbaijan to Russia, up 26.2 percent from April of last year.
To note, in Azerbaijan's main air harbor, Heydar Aliyev International Airport, passenger turnover reached a record level in 2023—more than 5.85 million passengers were served. This figure is 33 percent higher than the results for 2022.
