TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 10. Uzbekistan will establish leather clusters in Sharof Rashidov and Akhangaran districts, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said, Trend reports.
At a meeting, he talked about leveraging current prospects in the leather and silk industries to create jobs based on Saikhunabad's local experience.
The president noted that Uzbekistan will allocate $40 million in low-cost resources for the construction of treatment facilities and buildings.
Furthermore, the initiatives will attract foreign brands that produce natural and synthetic leather items. The country will reimburse firms for up to $30,000 in sourcing fees.
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan plans to establish a small industrial zone in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region.
The construction of a small industrial zone in Akhangaran district entails the implementation of 26 projects as well as the creation of a $30 million leather and footwear cluster.
