Georgia Prime Minister Nika Gilauri's visit to Astana is planned for late March, Paata Kalandadze, Georgian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan, told Trend .
"Preliminarily, Georgian prime minister's working visit to Astana is scheduled for late March," said Kalandadze
He said that within the working visit it is planned to hold the next meeting of the international government commission on trade and economic cooperation.
"During the meetings within the prime minister's visit to Astana it is planned to discuss both current issues on existing projects and and perspective directions, including the transit of Kazakh grain through the territory of Georgia to Egypt," the Georgia diplomat said.
It was reported earlier, that Gilauri believes that Egypt can be interested in Georgia's transit capabilities.
"Georgia's transit potential should be interesting for Kazakhstan and Egypt, which are actively involved in the grain trade," Gilauri said during his working visit to Egypt in January, 2010.
It must be noted that JSC "Kazagro" Board Chairman Asiljan Mamytbekov said earlier that Kazakhstan intends to export 1.5 million tons of grain to Egypt in 2010. The deliveries will be carried out within the agreement between Kazakhstan's JSC NC "Food Contract Corporation" and the Egyptian Venus International.
