Osipov noted that after reaching full capacity, the terminal will be able to compete with similar ports of Russia.

"We have considered the construction of the moorage for the elevator, but the port management offered an interesting alternative to take ships into the port. In the case of positive conclusion of the experts, Bunge will be interested in this proposal," Osipov said.

The company plans to begin the construction of a new mill from January 2012, which should be completed in 18 months.

Some $10 million were invested in the construction of the terminal.
