The sale of housing has increased 5.51 percent in Turkey in January-March 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, the Institute of Statistics of Turkey said on Thursday.
During this period, housing sales increased in 16 Turkish cities, decline of home sales were observed in 10 cities.
The least amount of homes were sold in Agra, Kars and Igdir.
There was the greatest demand for secondary housing in the first quarter of 2012 - 67 percent of total sales.
It is expected that sales will increase in the second quarter.
