Revenues from tourism reach nearly $9 billion in Turkey in third quarter.

Turkey's tourism revenues in the third quarter of 2012 decreased by 4.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2011, reaching $ 8.9 billion, the report of the Turkish Institute of Statistics published on Tuesday on its website stated.

According to information, 79 per cent of tourism revenues have been received from foreign tourists.

The number of tourists during the period grew by 3.7 per cent to 15.5 million.

Within this period, the expenditure on tourism in Turkey decreased by 12.1 per cent to $918.2 million.

Turkey's total revenues from tourism in January-September hit $16.4 billion.
