The next meeting of the Azerbaijani-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation is planned to be held in Kiev in spring, Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko told media today.
"The various dates of holding the meeting of the intergovernmental commission are being negotiated," he said. "Perhaps the meeting will take place in April or May. We are discussing this issue with the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers and the Economic Development Ministry. Unresolved issues are being prepared to voice the specific proposals at the meeting of this Commission to intensify cooperation in any specific areas, such as economic, construction, education."
He added that five intergovernmental agreements are being prepared for signing for this year to be as active as last year. These are specific agreements in the sphere of education, science and technology, protection and plant quarantine and many others.
The legal base between the two countries consists of 125 agreements and this base is being intensified, Mishchenko said.
"We are beginning to regulate the specifics of each industry, rather than industry in general," ambassador said today.
