Istanbul to host third Turkic speaking countries business forum

Istanbul will host the first exhibition of export oriented products and the third forum of Turkic speaking countries from September12 to September 15, according to a message from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development posted on its official website on Tuesday.

Azerbaijani entrepreneurs were invited to participate at the exhibition and business forum.

The first business forum of Turkic speaking countries was held in October, 2011 in Almaty as part of the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries. An agreement on establishing a Business Council of Turkic Speaking States was signed during the event.

The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries is a regional association which aims to strengthen the unity of Turkic nations.

Members of the organisation are Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. The idea of establishing the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries was first promoted by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2006 during the summit of the Turkic speaking countries.

In 2009, during the forum in Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan), this initiative was fixed in the agreement on establishing a new international structure.
