Iranian parliament sends Social Welfare Organization report to Judiciary

Iranian parliament has sent a report of investigation from country's Social Welfare Organization to the Judiciary, Iran newspaper quoted spokesperson of Iran's Parliamentary Judicial and Legal Commission, Mohammad Ali Esfanani as saying on Dec. 5.

On Dec. 4, Iranian parliament's Social Commission published the report which claims some officials including 37 MPs and a few members of ex-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's administration received a large amount of money from the Social Welfare Organization.

The report was read at the open session of Iranian parliament on Dec 4.

The name of former Iranian first vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi, former Ministers of Labour Ali Reza Sheykholeslami and Asadollah Abbasi are among the ex-officials who have received gifts from the Social Welfare organization.

The names of MPs who received gifts have not been mentioned in the report, because the then head of the Social Welfare Organization, Saeed Mortazavi refuses to release the names.

Mortazavi who was appointed head of Iran's Social Welfare Organization in 2012 was in the post till August 2013.

The parliament's report requests prosecution of those who involved in the case.
